It seems to be the question of the century. The best way to answer this question is to ask if you would do your open heart surgery as, (Surgery by Owner).
A realtor is the most proficient and efficient person in the real estate transaction. Few people other than a Realtor are involved in every step of the real estate transaction.
From the 1st contact with the Realtor, the process starts moving:
* Marketing
* Advertising
* Open Houses
And so on. Of course this is just the beginning of the things to come. The next phase is:
* Writing the offer
* Negotiating and peacekeeping
The Realtor is one of the most important aspects of making the deal work. A Realtor Will help all parties keep their minds on the goal, (getting the best deal for all parties).
